Centre for Demographic Studies (CED-CERCA)

The Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) is a CERCA center, a center for research and training in demography, founded in 1984, through a consortium between the Generalitat de Catalunya and the UAB, being currently one of the European centers of reference in demography . CED research is organized into three major areas: Families, Inequality, and Social Change; Globalization, migration and space; and Health and aging. In terms of training, the CED offers, together with the UAB Department of Geography, the Doctoral Program in Demography. The CED is also a member of the European Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD), being its headquarters for several academic years.
